JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)
They have less detail and quality to store as many images on a memory card
TIFF (Tagged Image File Format)
These are uncompressed and may take up a lot of storage on a memory card and your computer
RAW
This is used for the highest picture quality and if you don’t use them the camera might alter the picture permanently
DNG (Digital Negative Format)
This format was an attempt to provide a standard RAW file for all people who make them and cameras. Is used as an alternative from RAW
PNG (Portable Network Graphics)
PNG keeps all the detail because it’s compressed in a lossless format and is not a big file size.
GIF (Graphics Interchange Format)
GIF can only have a maximum of 256 colors and allow animation
BMP (Bitmap Image File)
BMP’s work for MacBook’s, and windows. They are large files that don’t get compressed. They are high quality for printing.
PSD (Photoshop Document)
PSD’s let you manipulate the image or picture better on specific individual layers, not the main picture. You can edit the images but once you flatten before you save it you wont be able to edit it anymore.
